Hanuman Jayanti Greetings to All...Jai Sri Ram

May Lord Hanuman shower his blessings on you. Happy Hanuman Jayanti

Hanuman Jayanti is the celebration of the auspicious appearance day of Sri Hanuman, an ardent devotee and eternal servitor of Lord Sri Ramachandra.
Srimad Bhagavatam testifies that Hanuman still lives in Kimpurusha varsha, and constantly glorifies Sri Rama by chanting the following mantras:
There is no difference between Lord Ramachandra and Lord Narayana. But Hanuman wanted to serve only Sri Ramachandra and he did not accept the supreme benediction of eternal life in Vaikuntha loka. He decided to stay back in the earthly planet and glorify Lord Rama. He did not want anything that would diminish his relationship as the servant of Lord Ramachandra.
bhava-bandha-cchide tasyai sprhayami na muktaye
bhavan prabhur aham dasa iti yatra vilupyate
You are my master and I am your servant. I do not even want liberation from this material existence as long as this relationship is not disturbed.

Today the 11th October is the 4th day of Navaratri festival.
Below are some of the details of 4th day of Navaratri.

Fourth day of Navratri is also known as Varad Vinayak Chaturthi or Maha Chaturthi or Bhouma Chaturthi. In 2010, fourth day of Navratri date is October 11th, Monday. As part of Navadevi sampradaya puja, Annapurna puja is observed on fourth day of Navratri. Goddess Durga is adorned and worshipped in the form of Annapurna mata. Kushmanda Navadurga is worshipped in Navadurga Puja.

Shodashi Dasamahavidya Puja (Lalita Tripura Sundari Puja) is also performed by some sects of devotees on Maha Chaturthi of Navratri Durga Puja. Goddess Vaishnavi Devi is the Saptamatrika Devata worshipped on Chaturthi in Navratri Puja.

In some places Lord Ganesha is also worshiped with special pujas and food offerings on fourth day of Navratri.

Kushmanda, the fourth manifestation of Goddess Durga, is worshipped on the Navratri Chaturthi. She is considered to be the creator of the universe. Her name comprises of “Ku-shm-anda” meaning “the cosmic egg.” The fourth day of Navratra also marks the beginning of worshipping MahaLaxmi. Legend says that Lord Vishnu was able to start the creation of the universe when Devi Kushmanda smiled and moved away. She created the whole universe when there was no existence of any creation and there was eternal darkness in every direction. She signifies that form of Durga, which is the source of all. Devi Kishmanda is also known as “Ashtabhuja” as she is often depicted holding weapons, rosary etc in her eight. In her seven hands she holds kamandalu, bow, arrow, a jar of nectar, discus, mace and a lotus. In her eighth hand she holds a rosary which blesses her devotees with the Ashtasiddhis (8 types of studies or Wisdom sources) and Navniddhis( 8 types of wealth). She sits or rides a lion who personifies “Dharma”. Her hand holding nectar of jar provides her devotees with long life and good health.

The Goddess Kushmanda should be worshipped by Chanting the followed Mantra:
या देवी सर्वभू‍तेषु माँ कुष्मांडा रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:।।

Hindu Mythology

After Kushmanda form, Maa Parvati took birth at the home of Daksha Prajapati. In this form the Maa Parvati was a great Sati and her unmarried form is worshipped as Maa Brahmacharini Navratri.
Goddess Brahmacharini did severe penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband. It is stated that she spent 1000 years on the diet of flowers and fruits and another 100 years on the diet on leafy vegetables while sleeping on the floor. Further she followed strict fasting regimen while staying at open place in scorching summers, harsh winters and stormy rains. Without food her body became extremely lean, thin and became like Skelton. Due to her hard Tapa the whole of the Universe was disturbed and Sky, Earth and Patal was shaken.

Panchang for Chaitra Ghatasthapana Puja Day: Abhijit Muhurat for Chaitra Ghatasthapana Puja
Choghadiya Muhurat on Chaitra Ghatasthapana Puja
Most of the customs and rituals observed during Shardiya Navratri are also observed during Chaitra Navratri. Ghatasthapana Muhurta and Sandhi Puja Muhurta are more popular during Shardiya Navratri, but these Muhurtas are also needed during Chaitra Navratri.
Ghatasthapana is one of the significant rituals during Navratri. It marks the beginning of nine days festivity. Our scriptures have well-defined rules and guidelines to perform Ghatasthapana during a certain period of time at the beginning of Navratri. Ghatasthapana is the invocation of Goddess Shakti and doing it wrong time, as our scriptures forewarn, might bring the wrath of the Goddess Shakti. Ghatasthapana is prohibited during Amavasya and night time.
The most auspicious or Shubh time to do Ghatasthapana is first one-third of the day while Pratipada is prevailing. If due to some reasons, this time, is not available then Ghatasthapana can be done during Abhijit Muhurta. It is advised to avoid Nakshatra Chitra and Vaidhriti Yoga during Ghatasthapana, but those are not prohibited. The most important factor to consider is that Ghatasthapana is done before Hindu midday while Pratipada is prevailing.
The factors which are prohibited for Ghatasthapana are afternoon, night time and any time beyond sixteen Ghatis after sunrise.
Ghatasthapana is also known as Kalash Sthapana. You might also be interested in complete Chaitra Navratri Calendar.

Devi Shailputri is Worshiped on First Day of Navratri
Vande Vanchhitalabhay chandrardhakritshekharam |
Vrisharudham Shooldharam Shailputreem Yashasvineem ||

Almighty Durga is glorified with name 'Shailputri' as her first form. Navratri begins with worship of devi Shailputri. As she is the daughter of Parvat Raj Himalya (King of mountains), she is admired with name 'Shail Putri'.
Goddess Durga is personification of Shakti (power) and manifests herself in nine forms. These nine forms of Durga are religiously Worshiped one by one during nine days and nights of Navratri. Devi Shailputri is first among nine embodiments of Goddess Durga and is worshiped first during first day of Navratri. Her glory is incredible. She is the Goddess of purity. With her veneration, Navratri is given an auspicious start. She is also a form of Mother Nature (Prakriti). Worshiping this Goddess on the first day of Navratri Pooja, devotees enters in Moolchakra.
Devi Shailputri is worshiped along with Mahadev, as she is the consort (wife) of Lord Shiva. She is also the mother of Kumar Kartikeya and Ganesha. As she is Prakriti, she looks after all living organisms including human beings, animals, trees, shrubs, plants and even tiny living things on Earth. She holds a lotus flower in her left hand and a Trishul (trident) in her right hand. A half moon decorates her forehead. Parvati and Hemavati are other names of Goddess Shailputri. She rides on Vrishabha (a bull), the procession of this Goddess.
Legend behind incarnation of Devi Shail Putri
According to Shiv Mahapuran and other Hindu mythologies, Devi Sati, daughter of Prajapati Daksha, was got married with Mahadev. But King Daksha was completely not in favor of this marriage. One day, he organized a Maha Yagya. All deities and near dear ones were invited except Shiv and Sati. Finding this, Sati got deeply hurt and realized that her father was only insulting her husband Shiva. In this intolerable situation, she scarified her body burnt in fire of yogic Yagya. This sight was extremely painful for Mahadev. He made himself isolated from all and went for a penance of long eras. Without him the whole universe was in disorder. But, re-birth of Sati with name Parvati at home of King Himalaya nurtured rays of hope. However, it was very difficult for Parvati to get her Lord Shiva, as Mahadev lost himself in densest of Sadhna.
With mammoth efforts and immense devotion, Devi Parvati began her search and journey toward Lord Shiva. After many endeavors, she blessed with a re-chance to marry with Mahadev. Thereby, Shailputri symbolized herself as a true Goddess of root chakra. Her awakening was toward establishing universal love with Lord Shiva that glorified her as the Goddess of awareness.

On the first day of Navratri, devotees place enters in Moolchakra and worship Goddess Shailputri to establish dedication keeping Mooladhar in mind, and commence Durga pooja auspiciously. Jai Devi Shailputri.
